Happy 30th Alton Towers

MADHEN performed our So 80′s set at Alton Towers for the management team.
This year Alton Towers Resort is celebrating their 30th Anniversary!
There was a highly entertaining talent show before we took to the stage. Everyone was in full 80′s fancy dress which also makes the evening fun.

Alton Towers have three large outdoor concerts planned this year including P!nk
After coming off stage we were asked if would perform at their birthday celebration concert on Sunday 23rd May (details to be announced).
Fingers crossed we’ll be able to make it, as we are performing in Marrakech the day before!

21st January saw MADHEN jetting off once again!
This time we were off to perform on the beautiful island of Malta for GSK
We were warmly greeted by the wonderful staff at the Corinthia Hotel which overlooks the picturesque St George Bay in St Julians.
After checking in and a great slap-up lunch we sound checked with a great crew who make our life so much easier!

The GSK partygoers were great fun and made us feel very welcome. They asked us to stay after our MADHEN set and we had a blast as DJ Justin Charles kept everyone on the dancefloor. We were then invited to a local club a few minutes walk from the hotel where we had a great night dancing till the wee small hours with the lovely GSK people and the locals too!

We had a great night rocking a private party in a Tipi in the Cotswolds on the 16th January.
Luckily the snow had cleared enough for all the guests to arrive to a beautiful warm and cosy Tipi that had been decked out beautifully.
Before we went on stage the ‘Gypsy Queens’ performed some great acoustic music to the crowd in their own unique style
We took to the stage and there was no stopping the guests all night! They were an amazing crowd who just wanted to party all night long. We played two sets and were joined in the Tipi by the very beautiful and talented DJ Lora. It’s not often that all of us at MADHEN agree on something, but she blew us all away with her great choice in music and mixing skills.

Luckily she loved us too and we hope to work with her in the very near future!
There’s no business like ‘snow’ business!

As the UK was covered in a thick blanket of snow, MADHEN were trying to get to Barcelona for a corporate event for Pfizer.
Wednesday 13th January 2010 and Matthew is supposed to be flying out from Gatwick, the rest of the band from Heathrow (after a change of flight from Luton). At 6am it says Matthew’s flight is cancelled as Gatwick is closed! Luckily the lovely Petra (from WRG Creative Communication Ltd) had already anticipated problems and emailed us all a few days in advance with details incase of flight cancellations or changes etc. Matthew’s flight was then said to be going ahead, so he made a 2 hour trip to Gatwick only to receive a phone call from Petra as he arrived at the Terminal, to say his flight was now cancelled! The rest of the band’s Heathrow flight was also cancelled. It was a good job that we were flying out a day early. New flights were booked for the whole band for the following morning from Heathrow to Barcelona and this all went to plan.

We had played a Scizzor Sisterz (Scissor Sisters Tribute) gig here a few years back and it really is a beautiful venue.
After a brief soundcheck we were ready to rock and had a great gig with the crowd from Pfizer.
We were joined onstage with DJ Justin Charles
The following morning it was back to Barcelona airport to get flights back to the UK for a gig later that night in Hertfordshire. Who says life is dull?
The Big Freeze

As Britain freezes, there are so many people who have been effected by the weather including us here at MADHEN
We had a gig at a Polo Club on Saturday in Hampshire for a 50th birthday party. Hampshire has been badly hit by the snow and ice, so this has been postponed till the end of February (weather permitting)!
We’re also off to Barcelona next Wednesday for a corporate gig for Pfizer on Thursday night. Let’s hope we can get there and back as there’s more wintry weather on the way.
When we get back we have gigs the following two days in Hertfordshire and the Cotswolds. Watch this space!!!

New Year – New Website

It’s a busy January already for us Madhens! We’re working on revamping our website! New layout, pics, videos and audio tracks coming very soon.
We will of course be keeping you posted.
We’re also looking forward to a busy January with gigs in the UK, Malta and Barcelona!
