September

September 29, 2011

Over the past month MADHEN have been travelling all over the UK and abroad. After some great gigs at the Birmingham ICC and London, in just 9 days we took 12 flights and slept in 8 different hotels to perform 6 gigs. We have been performing in Aberdeen for BP (British Petroleum) every Friday this month at the Ardoe House Hotel. We had two beautiful weddings in Jersey with our good friends at Delta Production Services who really know how to throw a great party!  We also had the privilege of playing in the Zofin Palace in Prague for an amazing crowd of new partners from around the world for Ernst & Young.  We then flew to Milan to perform a corporate event  at a beautiful hotel on Lake Maggiore in Italy. Celtic Manor was the setting for a great gig last week and  tomorrow sees us returning to Aberdeen for our last gig for BP with the lovely people from Roselle.  It is the busiest month we’ve ever had in our 11 year history.  More blog updates next week with videos and pictures from this crazy whirlwind month of gigs!  Thanks to everyone who’s been involved and to the amazing crowds who’ve kept us going. Next week Barcelona and Majorca!!!!!

Special Guest Appearance!

June 22, 2011

We had a great day and evening at Brickendonbury Mansion in Hertford, Hertfordshire at Toni & Adam’s wedding. The bride Toni had seen us at a variety of events including the star studded ‘Music & Lyrics’ film premiere party at Floridita in the heart of London’s Soho. It was a great day and we were made to feel part of the happy couples special day.

Friends and family were ready to party as we took to the stage and we even had the pleasure of Toni’s father Tony Hadley, performing two songs with us. He sang Robert Palmer’s ‘Addicted To Love’ and below you can see a video of the Spandau Ballet frontman performing the Kaiser Chiefs ‘I Predict A Riot’ on stage with us. He came and thanked us all individually afterwards and we’d like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved who made it such a great night. The staff at the venue were brilliant, especially Scott & Andy. It was a beautiful setting for a wedding and even the odd shower didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. Toni sent us this lovely message the next day:

Hey, sorry I didn’t get a chance to speak to u all, I was so busy with having to do the rounds!
I just wanted to say a huge thanku.
It was brilliant!
xx Toni xx

MADHEN – The ultimate party band!

June 8, 2011

Busy busy hen’s this week.  We’ve updated our website with new pics and bits!

www.madhen.net

Have been having some great gigs, from gorgeous weddings to big corporate parties.  Lots of activity in the office this week too, with many new enquiries and confirmations.  We have 3 gigs this week alone and September is looking really busy with every Friday spent in Aberdeen!

Also working on new tracks and our Christmas setlist too.  This is as good a time as any to thank all those who contribute to the success of MADHEN.  There’s a lot of great creative people we work with and companies who book us time and time again.  We are truly appreciative and look forward to a continued year of success

Much love from all the MADHEN’s

From Russia with love

June 2, 2011

MADHEN made our debut performance in Russia this week!  We flew out to St Petersburg for a corporate party for ‘Landmark’.  The venue was beautiful and it was great to perform in Russia for the first time.  We’d been pencilled to play there on a few previous occasions.

We flew out from London Heathrow at 6am to Zurich.  Then we transferred to another Swiss Air flight to St Petersburgh.

Thanks to everyone involved in all the planning and the smooth sailing of the gig.  Here’s to the next time!

Joseph Foote Fundraiser

March 10, 2011

It was an absolute honour to be asked back for the 2nd time to perform at the Joseph Foote Fundraising Ball in Birmingham on Saturday 5th March

The event, which raises money for research into brain tumours, was held at the Birmingham Hilton Metropole Hotel and attracted more than 800 guests.

Evening highlights included performances by Britain’s Got Talent star Connie Talbot

Take That Tribute Band ‘The Greatest’

X-Factor songstress Treyc Cohen

Plus of course MADHEN!

The charity was founded in 2001 by local entrepreneur Andy Foote whose son, Joseph, was diagnosed with a rare ependymoma malignant brain tumour, aged just 2. Despite multiple surgeries & treatments the cancer claimed Joseph’s life in 2007, following an inspirational seven year battle.

The memory of Joseph continues to be the driving force behind the Charity Ball, which helps to fund potentially life-changing research. This year’s event alone managed to raise over £150,000.

Andy Foote said:

” I am always so amazed and inspired by the level of support we receive year on year and it gives me great comfort to know that Joseph is still in everyone’s hearts and minds.”

It was a long day but for a great cause.

Luckily we had the pleasure of Bella’s personalised MADHEN cupcakes to keep us going after an early afternoon sound check as we didn’t get onstage till 11:30pm!
